root-cal
About
root-cal is a shell script that works in conjunction with
xroottext to display
the current calendar in the root window.
It displays the current month and next month, highlighting today.
Version
This is version 0.1. In other words, it works for me. So far.
Getting It
History
- Dec 3, 2000 - fixed issue with marking day of month for days that appear the start of the week.
- Late November - annoyed with root-tail's habit of crashing and various race conditions when reading from pipes, I searched for a replacement
- Middle of November - Initial version written using root-tail.
and came up with xroottext, which reads from stdin (meaning it will properly
die when the root-cal exits (like at logout)).
- Early November - I sat through a training session where someone used their Win98 machine on an overhead projector. They had the
current month and next month
